Sunday Walk

I am a very big outdoorsy person so going for walks is what I like to do a lot. Whether it's a walking the dog around the block or a hike I'm not the one to turn them down. With the nice weather and no plans Jordan and I decided to walk up Roseberry Topping which is a a small hill in Newton-Under-Rosberry. We caught the train to Great Ayton and walked through the countryside towards the hill.

The footpath which we followed led us into a forest full of super high trees and large plants which made me feel teeny tiny, very Jurassic Park-esque and I bloody loved it. It was so peaceful just strolling through all the lush surroundings and taking in the fresh, country air which is always lovely.

Once we got up to the top we spent a good while sat admiring the view and maybe kind of trying to get our breath back.......... In all seriousness the walk is short but pretty steep so I do suggest water to keep hydrated and some comfy clothes and footwear. There are spots where you can take a breather on the way up as most hike walks making it a lot more easier to go at your own pace. We chose the best day as the weather was fantastic making the view even more stunning.

After a walk back down the hill we ended up just walking anywhere to see where we could end up and the answer to that is a good, old country pub eating back the calories we just lost and a well deserved pint of beer. It's always lovely having a day outdoors so were planning on spending more of our free times exploring whats right on our doorstep. Even more exciting knowing Autumn is only round the corner. Where is your favourite place to walk?
